This is the original RM2510 5.0 cu ft fridge that came with our 2008 trailer. It struggles getting down to a good temperature in the hot weather but we think using these 'curtains' has helped a bit in reducing the loss of cooling.

Though you probably have to deal with higher temps consistently, we have never had trouble keeping our same fridge cold enough. We have only been near the mid 30°C range a few times though. It hit 30°C this past weekend, and set at 4 (out of 5), it was right down near 0°C inside.

Just installed the Fridge Guard RV Fridge Guard
and it took all of 10 minutes. There is a custom piece of plastic/vinyl with velcro openings for access and 2 tension rods. Size is small and fits perfectly. It is 92in the camper and outside right now and refer is 10 and 37. Jumped to 44 during the install, will post recovery time later.

It looks nice and will load some food items later and report on the ease as well as recovery time and and reduction while loading. The refer rose several degrees during the install, if it reduces that rise I'd say it is successful.

At some point when you have time, would you mind putting one of your Accurite sensors on one of the door shelves and another in the main part of the fridge? That'd be interesting information. But then again, you might have your own life to lead instead, huh? Thanks!

I already do, I have 3 sensors in my refer, one one the door so I can report if there is any differential. One hour later the temperature has recovered already 50% of the rise.

Thanks for the pics . Good idea Rich has about getting temps inside and on door . I noticed the tile table especially the tile . Curious did you make it or purchase it ? The tile is very familiar . I use to make tables using that tile for a store . That was 30 +years ago . Tile goes out of style and changes I think every 8 years . Just curious the history of the table . Pat

The table is a hand me down from my family, originally bought in Maryland in the 80's, went down to Florida and then moved to Pennsylvania where it now resides in my house.

I checked today, I'm on 3 bars, 10/37 inside and 39 on door, 89 outside. Something else I did not realize, you can attach the unit to your shelves via pull cords, once this happens it is tight against the shelf, no need for those refer bars to contain food inside, this will accomplish that goal as well. The price stated is $40 for small and I'm awaiting a call for any type discount we may receive. I'm really please with it, I think it makes the refer more airtight as well as less susceptible to large temperature swings during use. Anxious to test on the road next. BTW, my thermistor is loose and hanging in the corner, not sure if that is why I'm getting good performance on #3 or a combination with the Fridge Guard, but between the two both are working together. I'm a happy camper...

You're also a pioneering leader! Many thanks for your research. We'll have to get you a white lab coat soon

Those are great numbers Jim, I was at 12/41 today inside/outside temp at 90, 4 bars. Supposedly the only differences between our units are the loose thermistor and the fridge-guard. I can get it into the 30's if I turn on the A/C and go to 5 bars. Might pick up one of the guards to use on the off chance we go somewhere when it's this hot.

Forgot... had the rear fridge fans running all day.

Reefer Guard

Jim, I just ordered one as I always believe that a full cabinet doesn't have the space to warm quickly and the cold stuff will rechill the space. On the way home we don't have the full reefer so maybe the panels will help. We returned from Monterey and the historic races Sunday at 116 degrees. Temps with near empty refrig got up to 50 and 22 degrees on 12 volt, which seemed to work as well as propane. I do have a fan switch installed and will put my modified fan fix back in the new 2 door and you reminded me to move the sensor off of the cooling coils in the fridg. I'm determined to make this work as my single door was almost there.
