Retro Roof AC install
Query:
Is it possible to retro fit a 2009 Escape 17B with Roof Air? If so how many modifications are required (ie, strengthen roof, wiring, etc)? And a ball park cost if done here in BC.
Thanks,
Steve

I think your question should be directed to ETI.
I don't know of anybody who has done it. When I opted not to get air on my 17B, I was under the impression that my decision was permanent. Of course, anything can be done for a price. ETI would be the place to go for the expertise and pricing.

Absolutely, positively. We can give you opinions, but that's they are. If you want a definitive answer... ask ETI.
However, with enough time/money anything is possible. Even if our suggestions don't meet your expectations! Like big ugly "band aids" on the roof to hold the A/C

I am pretty sure you can, as I think they used a separate shroud to strengthen the roof for A/C. As mentioned, ask Reace to know for certain though.

In 2008 I had the option of AC, AC ready, or no AC. I think if the roof reinforcement wasn't done during the build, the cost to retro would be prohibitive.
As the years go by since my build, I have less and less advice to offer.
I'd ask Reace, giving him the VIN for the specific trailer.

That could be. I never realized there were 3 options. I know mine is A/C ready. REace could straighten him out, and let him know a cost, do decide whether it is worth it.
I know in 3 years there are maybe a handful of days I would have used it a bit if it was available.

Hmm... see a lot of these posters lately with 1-4 post histories. Makes me wonder. Anyways, at some point- I know our 2010 17B was- the roofline changed and had a separate upslope reinforcement and thus was A/C ready.

For instance... I first visited here in 09 just before looking at a 19, asked a few questions then went away till 13 when I heard of the 21, just before the 5.0TA. Asked more then a few more.

And when I joined this forum, I hardly had any posts.

I had my pocket padded with a high post count when I joined, it was one of perks of being in the first five.
