I started with a portable panel on our Scamp and then added a rooftop unit. Both setups have advantages/disadvantages, but by having both I could take advantage of the advantages.
When I ordered an Escape 19 it was an easy decision for me to get the rooftop panel, plus the port to plug in the portable panel when we park in the shade, or in winter when the sun is low on the horizon and hides most of the day below the tree line.
