Snake entrance
We had this guy try to get into our Casita a few years ago.
Glad we weren't tent camping.

Wouldn't take much to reinforce the top framing during construction. Just makes more sense to me

After removing the pneumatic door closer did you replace the sweeper with anything?

No the sweep was not replaced. It is still there behind the wooden lath which closes off the 2 inch gap underneath. See post #1.

Can I see a picture of how you put the wooden piece on there?

It is pictured in post #1. You’ll see 5 black screws fastening it onto the bottom of the screen door. That was a prototype. I have cleaned that up and replaced the black screws with white ones to make it les obstructive and noticeable.

Thanks for the advice. We’ve been trailer camping with a dog for more than a decade. Sorry, the best advise is to redesign a lousy design and get rid of the gap under the screen door.

I installed a 2” clear silicone sweep that has an 3/4” adhesive strip on one edge. Cut it with a scissor, neat and clean install. Took all of 5 minutes, and not even noticeable. Installed on inside of door.

Love the idea of the silicone sweep. Just ordered the hinges and silicone sweep in prep for our trip to AZ and UT in a month or so.
