Solar panel for trailer

We have recently purchased a 2005 Escape 17' Plan B trailer and would like to put on a solar panel. Have heard about 'flexible' panels. Anyone have experience or suggestions?

Thanks Brent

I believe Jim B. installed several on his 5.0 roof...another option is going th the factory in Chilliwack and getting a factory install package with dual 6 volts on rear if there is room.

I'll be putting flexible panels on my roof. Maybe one or 2 to keep the battery topped up. I usually camp in the shade. I have 4 - 40 watt portables from Canadian Tire.

Why do I prefer the flexible panels? A thief can't see them from the ground, their more aerodynamic, their mounted without adding holes.

My solar panel is portable, not permanently mounted...I mostly put it on the ground or on my cargo rack in back. It's 100 Watt Lensun folding "suitcase"; I chose it because it is very light...I think @ 11 lbs. I do tuck it in the car every night but it's not a huge inconvenience. I've had it 2 years.

Funny you should say that! I have been asked several times if I was thinking of installing solar panels when I have four of them already installed.

You really can't see them from the ground.
