Springfield Pedestal / New Table
I just order a new table for my E19 w/ standard dinette and a Springfield pedestal. Wondering if anybody has any tips in terms of install. I do plan on keeping the slider, think some of you tweaked the slider to make it more stable, will have to do a search for that mod.
Thought is to remove old table and hardware from pedestal (leaving pedestal attached to floor), mount the slider to the new table, then mount slider/table back on to the pedestal…. I’m I missing something, any tricks, gotchas?
New table to be mounted (36x28)….

Thanks, bob

FYI: I read somewhere that the ETI slider is plastic and prone to breakage. There are metal ones on the market, apparently.

Thanks for that info... Haven't really looked real close at the existing hardware, that is a good point!. Will find out soon, but if that is the case, I will plan on replacing the slider for peace of mind... Didn't really like how the existing slider just used a pressure screw/bolt against the table to stop the table from sliding anyways. Thanks, again!!!

On the other hand 4 years of use and the locking mechanism works fine.

Agree, I've had no issue with the slider... Just every time I tighten, my mind always questions is that tight enough, too tight, or just right... Probably just a me thing

I have a 2019 5.0 TA
When I picked up in May of 2019 I brought the Springfield base with me ( that's what you had to do then ) they installed it with the ETI slider.
I do not have a lock of any kind. The table just slides.
I have heard others talk about a lock for the slider.
What's up? did they just leave mine off?

Should be a knob underneath that you tighten to keep the table from sliding. Just screws in to put pressure on the plywood underneath. I bet if your knob is missing, the threaded hole to screw the knob into is still there, you could just buy another knob (maybe a buck), not sure of the threading...
