step edge protection

I was going to grind the sharp corners off the top sides of our steps. Went to grab the grinder and noticed some rubber pieces that would work were laying there.
These are foot pads for angle iron shelves. I had to cut the bottom closed part off and cut them down to size. Then glued them in with 3m door gasket adhesive. you need 1 1/2"x1 1/2" or for Canadians 40x40mm footpads. I've enclosed a link so you can see what they look like before they were cut. Look elsewhere though for them , I bought 16 of them locally for less than that price.

Good I have to go look at my Escape to see if I have the same issue. Didn't notice it before. But then again, haven't dinged myself yet either.
