I just did a quick cheap one made from outdoor decking squares. I definitely plan to build (or maybe buy) an nice teak one in the future. The synthetic material of the one I use is tough, but cold on the bare feet in the middle of the night.

There are some here though that bought teak mats. Chris R made a nice one.

I didn't know what the foot flush looked like. Wow, that's different!

Nice flooring fitting perfectly.

If you want Teak, the easiest way is to modify one that's already built. Here's a thread on the one I did:

http://www.escapeforum.org/forums/f8...-mat-8125.html

The price for the matt has gone up about $20 since I did mine. But it's of good quality and easy to cut down to fit. Also, I mentioned in the original thread that I might replace the black rubber feet with white ones in order to prevent marking the shower floor - but it hasn't been a problem.

I made this one from heartwood redwood. It has a polyurethane finish and little white rubber feet.

The bathroom shell is different. The shelf in Jim's picture does not exist in my classic 5.0ta.

I am hoping this image shows but I don't know if I have had enough posts to allow that. If you want to see more images PM me .... that is if the image does not show here. Bill

Whatever you decide to use, make sure it's easy to clean *thoroughly*. And I mean thoroughly. I used to have plastic tiles that snap together. Water could run through them and all that. However, gunk built up in it, even though I'd rinse it out after every shower. It was starting to stink. I soaked it in the home bathtub with soap and bleach. Still stunk, so I tossed it.

I now put a small rug from Bed, Bath and Beyond in there and take it out when showering. The rug can be shook out the door when debris gets on it. And easily washed at home. Much easier to maintain than what I had before.

Jim, I hope you don't grab the Aqua Kem by mistake when taking a shower...

I use an old bath towel on the bathroom floor. Easy to shake out, warm and soft on my feet for those middle-of-the-night walks and at the end of a trip, throw it in the washing machine and good to go, fresh and clean, for the next trip. Of course, the towel is removed if showering

Marine dri-dek is what we use and has been in shower since 2013 . Have a teak bench at home in a shower and it is constant upkeep . Have to clean with bleach and reoil with teak oil . The dri-dek no mold or stink . Lift up and wipe under after shower .Pat

Copied Pat and use the Dri-dek tiles. 10 minute install, no maintenance. Harder on the feet than wood, but my feet don’t feel much of anything anymore

Hi Greg your not as old as I am and my feet can take it . Copied Greggo when I saw his 19 and have not looked back . And I love wood especially teak I made a little shelf next to sink like Chris R.. ,but shelf doesn't get very wet in shower or get dirty like the floor does . Dri-Dek is the way to go . Pat
