Tongue Mounted Storage Boxes
I wanted to add a tongue mounted storage box for sewer fittings and such but I didn’t want to spend the money to modify the tandem propane tank installation on my Escape Trailer. I happened to have the two metal lockers that are 10 inches wide, 6 inches deep and 16 inches tall and found that they fit really well on the side of the existing propane tanks. I imagine some ammo boxes would also work. I added a thin metal strap across top of the boxes to link them together, this stiffens them up quite a bit.
Please see this link to FiberglassRV.com for details. http://www.fiberglassrv.com/board/in...topic=23382&hl

Re: Tongue Mounted Storage Boxes
I posted on a custom tongue box elsewhere as I had not noticed this thread previously. I believe its under modifications.

I removed the custom box Escape supplies, when backing into a tight spot it is to easy to break tail lights.
Does someone want it

Doug,
Have you considered a longer stinger for your hitch, that box is indispensable.

No.
I use a stabilizer hitch, so did not want to change that.
I removed the box, made a new platform.
I re installed the battery box, and three propane tanks. Two 20 pound tanks, for the trailer, and one 20 pound tank for the outside grill.
My tug is a pickup, so I have storage there.

Doug, I would love the storage box but unfortunately live in the Kootenays (near Creston, BC) and can't think of any cost effective way to get it here.
Unfortunately still working and used up our vacation time so can't make a trip out your way this year.

From looking on the forum it appears that as the 19 is wider than the 17, the storage box will not fit, too bad.

Hi Doug!
I am interested in getting your box depending on where you are located. We're buying an Escape 19 in Anchorage, AK and driving to Arizona through Chilliwack, B.C. Where are you located? I sent you a message but don't know if it will work.
