Hi Don, It is the stocker installed by Escape. It works fine here in Richmond we get 7 channels mind you 3 are French but they are just as clear. We even get King 5 from Seattle WA. But in rural areas we may only get one that's clear enough to be worth watching.I usually just hope to catch the sports and weather but the Mrs. looks for Soaps. LOL.

The unit is the Winegard Roadstar. It is HD ready. A newer model I believe as I asked for the HD capable version.
I never counted the French or the infomercial channels.....

Ya , It's all really just white noise. If your in a park with 50 thousand other Rvs then it's ok. Out in the bush it's nice to just listen to the quiet stuff.

Since antennas and amplifiers can't even tell whether the signal is analog or digital, they are all "HD ready". Since many digital stations are in the UHF band you do want an antenna and an amp which cover that band (unlike the old "rabbit ears") as well as low-VHF and high-VHF, but the UHF TV band has been in use since I was a little kid (several decades ago), so you don't need anything "newer".

The omnidiectional antennas (which are only workable with an amplifier) such as the Winegard Roadstar series that have recently become popular are certainly a convenience.

The antennae manufacturers cleverly understood that we would pay more if they print "HD Ready" on the box.
On the same topic, CBC Marketplace tested and compared cables. The $100 Monster cable delivered nothing that wasn't delivered by the $9.99 version. The testing was done by their tech department - who would know better about video? Remember this next time you shop at Future Shop or Best Buy where they will have a couple TVs set up, one poorly tuned with the cheap cable and one properly tuned with the Monster cable.

TV Antenna

I am attempting to split the TV antenna discussion off from the rear lights. We shall see.
