u shaped dinnette

19 on order. Thinking of adding option of u shaped dinette. What are the pros and cons. Do I get more storage space?

We haven't picked up our trailer yet (March 26 ... yeah!) so I can't comment on the storage space; however, we opted for the U-shaped dinette because I wanted the option of removing the table and having a "lounge" space. From comments of others who have ordered the same, they seem very happy with their selection.

Reace installed the converter and furnace on one side and the battery is on the other side, this leaves the entire back trailer width available for storage as well as approximately 2/3 of the battery side and 1/2 of the furnace side open.

On the 19' 19 ETI will install the power panel (12V/120V) under the front seat. You do get more under seat storage (The space between the 2 side benches.) And you get a smaller table.

The table can be installed to slide side to side or front to back. We chose front to back.

We actually wish we had the standard dinette with the u-shaped dinette table sliding front to back (and an extra piece to make the bed when the table is down.) We usually sit with the table slid to the front (so we can get in and out without moviung the table,) and because of the U we can't slide quite forward enough on the dinette seats. (But overall we prefer the u-shape to the standard dinette with the standard table.)

We have the u dinette in our 19. I'd say there is a bit more storage space across the front of the trailer. The converter gets moved to the front section so some space is used. The drivers side bench area is pretty well used up with the black tank and any extra electronics like surge protector or inverter you may opt for. Across the front would be a good area for long thin items, fishing poles the table pedestals etc. Not the most convenient area to get at with the long base and back cushions to move. As others have mentioned its the lounge area with the front bench and back cushion that makes it for us.
Storage will never be an issue for us in the 19. When fully packed we have a couple overheads with little in them and tons of under the bed area.
If you search u dinettes you will find several picutres and a fair amount of discussion from last summer.
