Under bed drawer in a 19 footer

The included images are of a roughly 2' X 2' X1' high drawer I made this winter for my rig. Ball bearing 24" drawer slides are used for movement and an L shaped drawer slide attachment frame was built and installed for the left side attachment. The right side used Escape existing framing. A removable partition in the drawer was added, and this will be a more useful and accessible mod for clothes storage and retrieval.

Under our bed we've chosen to go with the “eco friendly” cardboard box.

Very nice!
Looking to do something similar in the months to come.
How do you access the winterizing valves?
Just remove drawer? Or is that the removable section?
Can you show a picture of that segment?
Thanks!

Valve access

Well I haven't tried access to the valves, but raising the "hatch" beneath the front portion of the bed would be one way. In the photo of the closed drawer, on the floor in front of the drawer are 2 aluminum poles that I use to keep the under bed hatch door propped open.

If required, the drawer can be removed....by deploying drawer slide catches that hold it in place and pull the drawer out.

FYI. I did have to remove the cabinet door handles as the right side one contacted the cabinet door to it's right and prevented full 90 degree swing. I replaced both sides with a small pull knob and covered screw holes with adhesive fruitwood discs gotten from the big box lumberyard, made for covering small holes.

Not a 19 but on our 15A...we quickly grew tired of hands & knees accessing the giant under bed space and since we leave the bed made full time, I built a huge drawer on heavy duty full extension locking drawer slides. Made all the difference in the world.

If you plan for it you can size and locate the drawer such that you have enough room to still reach back next to the drawer and reach the winterizing valves and the EZ winterizing tee through the lower doors. Without removing drawer or trying to lift the hatch under the heavy mattress.

I like all these ideas and hope to make some sliding trays after we get home with our Escape pickup. In the meantime, does anyone have the measurements for the width and height between the edges?
We are packing suitcases for our travels up North and are hoping to find some that will slide into the opening until we get home.
