Put up your awning and with another awning it will look like a plane sitting on a runway

In AZ we call that a landing strip for drug runners.

Coleman Lanterns

We used 2 Coleman lanterns for lights for about an hour after dark when we were on the lookout in 1970. Total silence except for the generator hiss, a few night bird calls and and occasional Coyote howl. Very romantic. Colemans are gone but the romance lives on.

In Texas, we have seen many campsites with lots of lights, particularly at a certain nice campground. With all of the items they have outside, I would say that they need them to get around everything. It looks like Christmas lights. If you like Christmas lights like I do, you would like these. I don't think they keep anyone from seeing the lights in the sky because the campground lights are not high up above trailers. Of course, I am not usually right by them.

On the other hand, we have lights to use for going back and forth from the TV with hands full or doing some things outside. Then they can go off. We use our amber door light for finding the trailer. We have a few little solar lights for minimal lighting and I would like more of those.

Now that's what I'm talking about. Very nice. Looks homey and inviting to my way of thinking....

From my limited understanding, drug runners don't land. They just look for a drop site, fly low for the drop, then keep on flying. Now if I saw a circle of those lights out in the middle of nowhere with no one visibly around - then I'd be worried. Might be time to call the local Sheriff's Office....

Calling "RAP" music, to me is an oxymoron. I used to tell my kids that there was a reason why RAP and crap rhyme. (Am I allowed to say that here?)

Not much of a rap fan at all, but there is some that is good, some being like 5-10%.

All I do is think back to what my parents thought of the music I listened too, and their complaints, and I try to be more open minded. Lots of great music being made these days.

I understand your point Jim and I let my kids listen to mostly what ever they wanted too. But for me 95% of rap crossed the line. It wasn't that I just didn't care for it, I didn't like what it was (for lack of a better word) preaching.

The ganster rap kinda stuff, and the topics those songs get into are not music of any type, and I am quite tolerant of many subjects. I am talking the cleaner type rap only. I don't mind swearing a bit, but some topics just do not need to be put to rhyme.

A whole wonderful thread about light and sound ... all stemming from a single post by the OP about "Underglow". Fascinating!

Good thing you can appreciate thread drift, because some of us are known to cause it....

Loved the Coleman light and sound brings back so many memories. Used it tonight while walleye fishing on the Rock River with our extraordinary warm stretch of weather. Something about the sound always reminds me of times down on the river and of all those early camping trips. Oh and I also have the burn scars from touching the top screw. Didn't pass the IQ test that night.

Did you do any good and what were you throwing? I was thinking of hitting the Iowa at Iowa City, tomorrow before the front comes in. Thanks

Are rodents a serious potential problem for us? When I looked under my trailer I didn't see much they could chomp on.

I have a big enough problem getting rid of squirrels in my attic at home. Still haven't accomplished this. And yes, I think they chew wires.
