Since Maxxair vents are no longer available, using his 3-d printer, Wayne introduced the concept of louvers that sit in the window track for (fiberglass) trailers. See his initial posting on FiberglassRV here and here is a show/tell video of the version he made for my Casita.
The challenges:
- the curviture of the top & bottom corners are not consistent across window vendors
- the height of the windows also varies across window vendors
- the flange that fits onto the thickness of the window glass might also vary especially for dual pane windows
Wayne's approach to overcome the first two items above is to provide a set of templates that can be used to identify the curve radius and the window height. So the process to acquire the custom made version to fit the window involves two steps: get a set of templates from Wayne to measure your windows and then return them when placing your order. For trailers with single pane windows, it appears that glass thickness isn't an issue.
Going to fiberglass rallys, several folks with Escape trailers have expressed interest but Wayne has hesitated due to the complexity of handling the window glass thickness issue.

It seems like it wouldn't be that hard. I have had excellent luck using photographs to match existing parts. I place a ruler in the frame for scale, and take the picture square on from as far away as possible, using zoom, to reduce distortions. I can't say I've ever had much of a problem with ventilation. I just turn on the maxfan and go ahead and crack the windows. I suppose if you didn't have a decent fan, or the wind was blowing hard? It would be nicer if it was all one piece. But like him, my printer only does 10inches by 10 inches. Since it would be really custom, it wouldn't be cheap.
