What's in the bottom of overhead cabinets?

I want to mount a 12v fan under the rear cabinet (bed area for a 21NE). It feels like there are two layers to the bottom of the cabinet with a gap inbetween. Does Escape run wires around through the bottom of the cabinets? Do I have to be concerned in drilling through the bottom? I need two mounting screws and one through hole to run the wires through. I guess maybe an alternate would be to tie power into the Captains Light.

You're correct, there are two layers sort of like a hollow core door. Much lighter than if they used solid slabs of plywood.

You can run wires up the corner under the easily removable batten. I drilled my hole and used a piece of flexible copper wire to shove the new wires up through the new hole that I drilled and then downwards in the corner.

I ordered the captains lights specifically so I could remove one and install a 12V fan. I ordered the Road Pro off Amazon and am really disappointed with it. It's loud and rattles on high. See post 11 in my thread.

You will like the Caframo. I installed the Caframo Ultimate (no blade guard) in the back of my 17B and absolutely love it. It makes a soft whirring sound and only draws something like .2a if I remember correctly.

Glad I saw this. I saw your previous post about the fan and was planning to try it. Also, I love your storage under the sink with the ripped plywood. Where did you get the pieces of aluminum for the dividers? Thanks.

When I installed speakers in my trailer I used spacers to keep the bolts from squishing the two cabinet floors together. The speakers are relatively heavy but their mounts have held up well.
