Where is sewer hose stored in new 17B trailers?

The specs for the current 17B shows a "20′ Sewer Hose & Storage". I have a 2005 17B that has no such storage. Can anyone tell me or send a photo showing where and how the sewer hose is stored in the new models?

I'm also interested in any creative home solutions other than a Rubbermaid storage bin, which is what I'm currently using. For example, I see there is room between the spare tire and the chassis for a 4" PVC pipe, but unfortunately the EZ sewer hose connectors do not fit in the pipe even though the hose does. Any workarounds? Thanks.

This came on my 2014 E21...




not sure it would hold a 20 foot hose, I have the Rhinoflex 15' kit[1] on mine, the elbow stays attached to the hose and just nicely fits, and there's sufficient room for the orange sewer line adapter to fit in there too. Rhinoflex are *MUCH* nicer hoses than the typical stuff that comes with RVs.

A 5" square vinyl fence post will hold the end fittings fine. Loews/Home Depot can special order if not in stock. Need the end caps, too!

Agree with tractors 1.
I got my 5 inch vinyl fence post from Home depot in Bellingham.Not to be done now, but can probably special order locally, plus end caps.Fastened to the top of rear bumper.Room for fittings, looks nice and clean.

Here is where I put my fence post. I used a couple L brackets and used the existing body mount bolts. It holds rhinoflex 10' and two clear swivels. Was quite easy. I'd rate it a 2/10...
I keep my other 10' brand new section in the front storage in case I ever need it.


Also. I ran a string under the rear tire to the base of the bumper to make sure it was out of the drag and snag line.

Thanks all. I like the idea of mounting the fence post or Valterra's EZ hose carrier under the bumper, but am concerned that it may hang too low. The bottom of my bumper has a 13" clearance, which means the hose carrier would be about 7-8" off the ground. Would this cause problems when exiting some parking lots or on a moderately lumpy gravel road? Wouldn't want to rip it off.

huh. on my stock 21, I just measured, the bumper is like 17 or 18", and the valterra style sewer fixture that i previously posted a photo of is about 13" off the ground. from the ground contact point of the rear tire to the bottom of bumper, the sewer fixture barely intrudes on that line.

I ran the line as suggested by Toddybegood. If a 5" pipe was mounted under the chassis between the bumper and wheel (an awkward position to reach) then it would hang 1/2" below the line, and if mounted just behind the chassis then it would hang down 3". And of course a larger pipe diameter would make it worse.

I dunno, on our E21, its hanging out back there, we've dragged that trailer over all kinda roads and 1000s and 1000s of miles, and never had a problem. true, it seems to be a bit higher than yours, and its on dual axle 15" wheels that are rated for way more weight than the trailer could possibly be..

If you are finding issues underneath a 5” square fence post should fit on the bumper between the shell and the spare tire mount. That size will fit the fittings as has been stated. Picture pulled out of Donna’s link.

I installed the adjustable Valterra Adjustable EZ carrier and I didn't think it through enough, assumed it would fit the 15' Camco Rhinoflex, but it sticks out a couple of inches! It is drilled into the steel underneath the 17' we have, where Escape said to drill/put it. I am looking into getting a 10' Rhinoflex instead - rather than finding another place to put the carrier - because I had to have someone help anyway! Nothing would fit into the white pvc carrier that was already installed on the bumper - the diameter was too narrow.
