I believe Escape has always used the Dexter Torflex #10. A #9 with max capacity of 2200# and 7” drums would be inadequate for the weight of a 17B. If the tag on your axle is gone there should be a serial number stamping on the rear center of the axle. With that number Dexter should be able to give you all the details.

True (of Escapes with Torflex).

While all are Torflex (except the 2014-2015 5.0TA), and all of the Torflex are #10, they vary in weight rating (due to different lengths of internal rubber rods), width (across the hubs, and between the mounts), and arm starting angle. What was used depends on the model, the year (all models got about 4" wider for the vertical-sided update in 2016), and in older models the "high lift" option.

Any 17' should have the 3500 pound rating, but more importantly all that matters for the lift bracket kit is that it is a #10.

If you can't find a sticker and really want to be sure, check the brake drums: they should be 10" inside diameter (so more than 10" on the outside) for the #10, in contrast to the little 7" drums that Dave mentioned for the #9.

I found the sticker....but it was painted over by the PO.
No stamp on axle but found this # stamped on the articulating ends
69-47CL
Google search shows nothing for that number.
I will measure the drums prior to picking up the lift tomorrow just to be sure.
Thanks for the replies.
