Window in the door

Getting plans finalized on our 19 and have another question. We can get the clear/opaque window or a non-opaque dark tinted window. Seems like it would be nice to see out the door window but the opaque keeps people from seeing in. We are getting the opening window in the kitchen.

Thanks,

Dave

Having the obscure glass in the door eliminates the need for any window coverings. I have never felt the need to look out there, as it is not in any sight lines other than when exiting. I don't think an opening window above the sink was an option when I bought. Either way, lots of airflow with just the four corners opening, along with the vents.

One of the first mods i did was to replace the door opaque window with a tinted one. I guess it's personal preference, but i like to see what's going on before i step out! I've had a couple of occasions where there was a bear in camp. BTW, if anyone wants the opaque one, they are welcome to it, just pay the shipping. Gary

Where did you get the tinted window? I have the thermal window option and the door glass is double paned opaque. Was your single or double? I did replace one in my old EggCamper with an opening window that was tinted.

I got the tinted door window from Reace, it's the same as the front side windows (on my 2007 B). It's single pane.

The "extra" window that we got in our kitchen does not open. We would prefer that it did. It is worth verifying with the factory if you are expecting an operable window.

We like the obscuring glass in the door for privacy's sake, which was apparently the standard offering in early 2012. Ours is much like the obscuring glass of a shower, letting light through but not providing clear vision.
