Wiring mistake during build?

About to do my first modification (adding 12v fans), and noticed extra wires. I’m guessing Escape wired an extra 12v plug, but the mistake was noticed before they actually installed the plug.
Do others have this in the overhead cabinet?

Not a mistake. It's more economical to make up wiring harnesses in multiple on a bench. It's there if needed.

That makes sense. Thanks for the fast reply!

I have the wires coiled in the exact place yours is. I don't think they are for a 12v outlet as I got all the 12v outlet package (6, I think) when I ordered. Be an odd place to put one up there.

It didn't concern me enough at the time to try to figure out what they were for but I am curious. Stereo speaker maybe?

Would be nice if ETI could explain what they could be used for.

Might be something that is usable if adding a back-up camera?

Don't think so. I have the ETI installed camera. I'm gonna go with speakers. I didn't order the radio stuff but as a previous post said, ETI runs the wire anyway.

That would be a good question to ask on their Escape forum…

This looks like what you get when you order an extra 12 volt drop. Easy enough to check with your multimeter and find out if those wires are 12 volt or just unused speaker wiring. From the wiring size, colors and connectors it looks like an extra 12 volt drop - may have just been put in by mistake, lots of people order extra drops to have handy connections ready to go for future mods.

wire drop

It looks like what I have in my upper cab. by the door. I forgot to specify that I wanted a drop in the lower cab. My mistake but there is 12 volts already in the lower cabinet and now Nancy has her permanent light where she wants.

We have a similar coil of wire in our 5.0 in the upper cabinet to the right of the door as you enter the trailer. We have a manual awning and apparently the wires were installed for a power awning option but left coiled and unused in our trailer. I thought I might be able to use them to power an outside awning light strip but they are unpowered. Dustin at ETI said the other end is where the power awning switch would be if we had that option.

Can anyone tell me where a power awning switch is normally located, how to get access in that cabinet wall and whether there's any other powered wire in that space?
