12 volt nightlight

We dry camp and it gets mighty dark inside at night. Any ideas on a 12 volt nightlight? Don't want to use an inverter with a 110V light.

I don't know about your 19, but the CO monitor over our 19's bed provides plenty of night light once our eyes are adjusted.

Between the stereo faceplate, the CO monitor, any 12V chargers plugged in, and the light from the clock on my phone, I definitely have no trouble seeing in the dark. We have begun to pull the faceplate off the stereo, and this diminishes the light a bunch.

Speaking of clocks, I use this Android app on my phone. I imagine it is available for iPhone too. I tried a few, but like this simple one the best. You can mute the screen to have it not too bright, and the big numbers are great to see. I have a little clamp that suctions to the counter to hold it.

The CO monitor, water pump light and refrig lights are all we get and it's not enough for what we need, hence the post.

We started travelling with a pet and the midnight bathroom runs get perilous in the dark with her lurking around. Nightlight vs a twisted ankle? I'll take the nightlight.

Try one of those little stick on LEDs. We picked up a set at Costco (not there anymore) but I am sure you could get them anywhere. The ones we got actually had a on/off switch separate from the light that you could mount anywhere. We installed one under a cupboard an another above the sink for extra light doing dishes. We love the one under the cupboard because my husband gets up VERY early to go fishing and the little LED lets him get his stuff ready without waking me up.

I have a Spot.It battery operated LED light just inside the bathroom door. I just reach in and press it ( the whole thing is a button ). Lasts forever on a couple AAs.
You could mount one where it's most convenient to reach ( under the bed? ) so it's not on all the time and doesn't disturb anybody else.

If not seeing the dog is the biggest problem, you could also use something like this: Amazon.com: Adventure Lights Guardian Dog Light, Red: Pet Supplies
I couldn't find any 12V plug in nightlights, so your best bet is probably one of the puck LEDs. We have two dogs but even with my legally blind without glasses vision I still have plenty of illumination between the fridge LED and our phone charger. Greggo, I just tried looking up Spot It light in Amazon and got too many results to wade through. What section/category was it in?

You should be able to find them in any Home Hardware, Canadian Tire, Home Depot etc.

I installed several red led night lights in my stock lights with a switch, very easy to see at night, one in bath is left on all night, minimal battery draw (.001 milliamp)

Did you perhaps mean 1 milliamp or 0.001 amp, or perhaps ten times that? One milliamp would be 0.012 watts, which is still very low... 0.001 milliamp wouldn't even be measurable by anything likely to be used in a trailer.

Couldn't find a 12 v nightlight that worked for us. I found one on Amazon that looked good and matches the interior well.

I just finished installing it and it's just what we wanted. The floor and entry are illuminated. The unit draws very little power but I wanted an off switch. Took power off the 12volt plug under the dinette and ran the wiring through the inside of the cabinets using wire loom and held down with brackets.

Nice work, I too like to see at night without turning on the o/h lights. I continued the run over to the wall along the floor, thru the screen door trim to the outside wall. There I drilled a small hole and installed one to illuminate the steps at night. You can leave the single led light on all night with minimal draw.

Good idea. I've found the step outside at night is treacherous. Did you find a weatherproof 12 volt light that works ok?

Yes, I removed the one in the picture above, it was a bullet type, ran the wire down and to the outside and reinstalled the bullet outside and replace the interior one with a red LED which works better inside at night. The same red ones I wired into several factory lights to turn them into night lights.

You got the hard part, getting the juice there, now just hook up the lights. I'll try to find where I got the bullet led, normally I buy from Superbrightleds.com and I think this is a license plate bullet light.
