15 amp refrigerator?

Can the refrigerator run on 15 amp (parked on driveway & plugged into house outlet)? We have a 2021 E19 with the standard 5.3 cubic foot refrigerator. When I turn it on, I only get the option of DC or propane - no AC. Works fine plugged into 30 amp at a campground.

Make sure you have a 3 way vs a 2 way refer unit. What does your build specify? Yes, it should operate off 15 amp circuit as long as air conditioning is not on.

If you have the optional EMS you might check to ensure it is actually allowing shore power to the trailer (quick positive test - plug any known-working AC appliance into an outlet in your trailer, e.g. a fan); if it's not you may have an issue with either the outlet on your home or any extension cord / adaptor you might be using. If you have a separate 'outlet tester' see what it shows when you plug it directly into the home outlet and then again at the end of any extension cord.

You can also have issues if any extension cord you are using is too light-gauge for the length of the cord (higher wire-gauge number = lower current capacity).

Yes. At our seasonal site, I remove the outside fridge grill and plug our fridge into an extension cord plugged into the 15 amp circuit.

We weren't expecting a 3 way fridge. Once we accidentally pressed the DC button and luckily I looked at our Victron battery monitor to observe we were down over 70 amps! Luckily it was summer and didn't need the furnace. Most of our previous campers were propane/AC, no DC. However, I know our Scamp was 3 way because we drained a battery.

No, our fridge is "not connected to 120v (plugged in) from ETI".

At our seasonal campsite, I plug an extension cord into the site's 15 amp 120v electrical outlet. After removing the fridge grill on the outside of our 5.0 I have access to the fridge plug that is connected to the 120v outlet in the fridge area. I remove fridge 120v plug from the camper outlet and plug the fridge into the extension cord, totally bypassing the electrical in the camper, but allowing the fridge to keep our beer cold. It works great.

We were having WFCO problems and wanted our fridge to keep working while I was trying to disconnect the WFCO charger, and a couple of months later when I exchanged the bad charger for a working charger. Plus, a couple of campers at the campground had their 30 or 50 amp cords stolen. To this day I still have disconnected the charger portion by removing the reverse polarity fuses.
