17B mattress - quick question

I’ve read that the “official” size of the bed in the large dinette area is 49x77.

Would we regret getting a mattress and topper that are 48x75? These are available - the other would require something custom and considerably more expensive.

Thanks.

Scroll down here: https://f.hubspotusercontent40.net/h...ochure-web.pdf and there is a diagram showing it as 52". Not sure if that is mattress size or actual space.

Weird. I keep seeing forum posts that say it is 49x77. I’ll check as soon as I can get back in the camper.

I had a friend measure her 2019 and the width from wall to wall was 53". But I see a lot of pre 2018 posts referring to 49" so possibly it increased. Seems like a 49" mattress would leave a lot of air space if it is still that size. It's supposedly 52" now.

You could get the mattress and then get a bigger topper and cut it to size. Then stuff the gaps around the mattress with the parts you cut off from the topper.

Just measured mine...49x78". This is the actual space in the trailer.

I opted to cut down a mattress topper and lay it on top of the cushions. So far it's comfortable. I believe I got a 3 or 4" thick Novaform topper from Costco.

I see you list a 2012. It does seem like it must have been smaller then and if it was 49 a 48 would work fine. (3/4 mattress).

Right, mine is indeed smaller. Interesting that the bed is a little bugger in newer units. Is the frame different?

There was. a major redesign starting in 2017 but not sure when the 17s changed or what all the changes were.

Hmm. I had no idea! Jealous of all of you that have a wee bit more bed space, but at least I can get away with a cheaper option
