19 front U shaped dinette

Here is a picture of our front u dinette. The front bench is 18" wide, the side benches are 24" wide. It is built to the stock deminsions of the 5.0 dinette. Build is about done we will pick it up August 13.

Dave,

What are the dimensions of your bed? I love this u-shaped design, but wonder about the size of the bed.

Thanks,
Mike

The dinette bed will be as stock 44 wide plus length. The front long back cushion is 2" thick so bed many be 42" wide. Will have a couple more seams from cushions. Hope that was your question.

I would guess that it won't have any impact on the size of the bed. It must be built into the standard front dinette area, as that space is limited in width by the position of the door. It can't be made wider without modifying the fiberglass molds, and if it isn't wider then it shouldn't impact anything in the rest of the trailer.

I think the only impact of this change would be to force a smaller (and presumably single pedestal) table.

I'd be curious to know how comfortable this arrangement is if you have 4 people seated around the table. Is there room for 4 to eat at the table, or is the space limited to a game of cards?

Can you still get the sliding table, or is a single pedestal not sturdy enough for it?

And can you raise the seats enough for Donna to see comfortably out the windows?

Dave,

My mistake, I was thinking you had reversed the bed and dinette, and converted the bed area (back of trailer) into the u-shaped dinette leaving the front area for your main bed. I had read earlier here that was possible, so just wondered what size of main bed that left you with. Regardless, I still like your u-shaped dinette and most likely will do the same myself, if I go with the 19, which I am leaning.

Thanks,
Mike

Thanks,

Since it just the wife and I we wanted a more lounge area. We saw AZJacks 19 who had a u dinette and really liked it. Think the table will be dbl pedestal and will have the slide.
Maybe some of the 5.0 owners can share their experience with 4 people.
Yes the bed reversal was just done in a 19, if I was a lone traveler I would also consider it. Sure is nice to have a company willing to build what you want within reason.

Basically these are custom built to order, I have put the u-shaped dinette on my list of options, it looks so nice as well as comfortable! You're correct, where else are you going to find a company thats so willing to accommodate their customers in this day and age? I don't own a Escape yet, but am sooo impressed.

Thanks for sharing, Dave!

Do you still have the storage under the cushions?

Yes there will be storage as the electric was moved to the front section along with the inverter and surge protector. Drivers side will have The black tank. Passenger side should be empty.

Nothing designed in for table storage that I know of. Hope some others who have trailers will respond.

Larger refrig is actually 6.7 not 6.2. My mistake.
Please tell me about table for the 19' front u-shape dinette.
1 or 2 pedestal? Does it still slide side to side?

Don,

We're on our return trip from escape. Been using the trailer and must say the u dinette is all we hoped it would be. It has a dbl pedestal and the table slides front to back. Very comfy for the 2 of us and gives the front area cozy feel. Will post a Picts when we get home. Must add that there is a lot of storage and the electrics,......inverter,surge protector and converter are very neatly wired.

Hey, Dave,

Let me know when you get back to ALB. Looking forward to seeing your 19 and hearing all about it. We have 4 weeks before our own trip up to the factory. Meanwhile, any road trip pix you could post would be most agreeable!

Glad to hear your return trip is going well and that the trailer is all you had hoped for! After you get back you and Myron and we will have to have a local Escape gathering!

Hi Dave - If I understand correctly, you still have the queen bed in the back but you changed your front dinette to a U shape. Did it cut down on the table size very much?

The table is 31" wide and 25 1/4" long. It is shorter than the standard dinette because of the front bench. Table slides front to back.
The side benches are 26" long and 24" wide. The front bench is 18" wide. The side back cushions are 4" thick and the front back is 2" thick. We find it very comfortable for 2 and that was our plan. We are in the 5'6" range, not exactly giants among our species. Myron is coming to see the trailer and I will have him comment on fit and he and his wife are taller.
