19er questions

I just saw gbaglo's photos of the 19, so here are a couple of what will no doubt be many questions that you'll be fielding in the near future:

-- Where does the microwave go? Over the stovetop, or over the fridge?

--Does the cool slide-out screen door work with the curved doorway design?

Thanks,
Bruce

Hi Bruce,
Go back to "Show Your Escape", under the topic "5.0's" and look at an entry for March 5. There you'll find a picture of the micro over the refrig. The frig in the fifth wheel is the same as in the 19'
All the pictures, and the comments, say the screen is GREAT!

Re: 19er questions

Hi all,

I too am a newbie here and have a couple of questions on the 19er. So the micro goes over the frig, but I see no mention of it as standard or optional eqipment on the Escape website. Am I just not seeing it?
Second, are the screw down stabilizers on the front and rear of the 19er, for a total of 4 stabilizers?
How big is the "brown wall" as you step in the 19er? It seems way big but that could be the 14-24 lens Glen shot with. Is this wall just the bathroom wall?

Hope to make it to Oregon this summer (work permitting) and see the 19er in person.

Thanks.

Re: 19er questions

The microwave does go over the fridge. I saw one at Escape's shop that they had installed. Not sure if it was supplied by the customer or Escape. An email to them would solve this for sure.

There are 4 stabilizers (I believe).

That wall in the photos is very deceiving as you suspected, it is the bathroom, closet and fridge in that wall. If you go by the layout on the website it is quite accurate. I have some photos of it being built, if I can find some time to process them, I will post them up.

Yes...I agree, the photos from Glenn are a bit deceiving. Our photos will be available soon.

Crank down stabilizer jacks on all four corners.

Cabinet above fridge is micro ready or can have a unit built in.

The screen door was not installed in time for the show but is included. There was no hot water tank installed either but no one at the show noticed!

Re: 19er questions

Ah yes ... it makes sense now. Saw the screen door on the 17ft photos and it looks nice. The stabilizers on all four corners sounds good. I figured the wall wasn't that massive and brown because Reace had the floor plan layout shown to scale on the website. I guess nobody at the show took a shower in the 19er to find out there was no hot water?

Re: 19er questions

Hi Brain,
The microwave is just one of the things Reace and Tammy can do for you (very willingly I might add). The Escape is a "stock" camper, with many "un-stock" modifications, if you'd like them. That's the great thing about the forum, you pick up on some ideas, and Rease and Tammy can do it, and do it very reasonably. We had 3 or 4 things done that weren't "listed", but are on HokieEscape, much to our delight. So, got an idea?? Send it off to Tammy, and she'll check it out for you. It's just one of the great things about "Escaping". Their customers sell their campers for them! Happy dreamin'

Re: 19er questions

I see where the Escape website now has the camera icons on the 19 ft floorplan. It doesn't seem to be working? Too soon?

Re: 19er questions

Given they are waiting for a sunny day to shoot pix, it may take a while. And, Reace has to cut the trailer in half so you can stand back to take the pix instead of using a wide-angle lens...

Re: 19er questions

Yeah, I was looking for the photos too---the 13' floor plan doesn't even come up any more.
They'll have to change their main page to show the "whole carton of eggs"

Re: 19er questions

Hi: All...So much to do... so little time!!! I think Reace& Tammy have been living, breathing,& eating "EGGS" to the cracking point. I hope the pace returns to normal for them and they can enjoy some camping too!!!Just my 2 cents worth.
