Somehow that doesn't worry me as much as when all the stores were out of bread, flour, and yeast a few months ago. Just sayin'.

I've been pretty happy with our 1UP so far. We have it in a 4 tray configuration so we can carry up to 4 bikes. But one thing people seldom mention when gushing about how this is the world's finest bike rack...it's heavy...82 lbs in 4 bike configuration (without bikes). We will be putting the 1UP on the E21 next weekend for the first time, and I've decided to not do more than 2 bikes and also check the before/after with the tongue scale. But that leaves me with 2 bikes I need to figure out something else to do with...inside the trailer, roof rack, or possibly in the back of the SUV.

I'm sort of wondering if I might be better off finding a lighter rack (target ~30 pounds) for the Escape. Not sure if there is one that light that can reasonably handle 4 mountain bikes though. Thule Helium Pro3 weighs 20 lbs so maybe....at least that's close.

True...unless you were gonna get ready to order one. A friend of mine did just that today and was sorely disappointed.

We loved our 2-bike 1 UP bike rack. With two people it's not too difficult to put on the trailer or truck (when we're not camping).

On our way to Chilliwack to pick up our trailer in March, we stopped by the 1 UP factory in Dickeyville, WI, to purchase the add-on license plate holder and driving, turn-signal, and stop-light LED light bar. A bit pricey, but well worth it when we use a bike bag that obscures the license plate.

We met the owners of 1 UP, a young couple who employ five to ten people at the factory. Their website says they can't take any backorders due to the "cycling market explosion". It looks that this is truly an American small business success story. Good for them!

I work at a bicycle retailer at a large metro Boston bike shop. Industry analysis indicates there's been about a 400% increase in demand, as compared to last year, for bikes and associated products since late March.

I've certainly been enjoying cycling more these days.

At this time, bike racks from all the major brands are sold through. Saris, Yakima, Thule, Kuat, 1 Up, Hollywood, etc. across North America. It's amazing. Restocking store inventory will take some time as there's so much pent up demand.

1 Up is indeed a fantastic product.
