2014 Escape 5.0TA Leaf Springs
For those of you with this year and model, precisely which grease did you use for the zerks (brand, type)? I've always paid to have it done (along with brakes and bearings), since it looks like I'll only go out camping two times this year, I'm going to do it myself.
I already have the gun and Lucas Red 'n Tacky for the EZ-Lube. I've done it multiple times since 2005, so no issue there. It's just the leaf springs I've never personally maintained.
Help

Didn't know they were there.
Etrailer has this answer to a question on the subject.
"I spoke to my contact at Dexter and he informed me that they recommend greasing the E-Z Flex equalizers every three months or 3,000 miles. I also attached a pretty helpful guide to how often trailer components should be maintained.
For grease Dexter recommends wheel bearing grease. For that we recommend the red grease part # L11390."
I'm thinking that's etrailer recommending red.
Dexters own wheel bearing grease is also Red

If it were me, I'd use the Lucas you already have.
Now I have to go do mine...

Thanks Bob! That's exactly the info I needed. When I went through Orientation, I was told to give the zerks a squirt about once a year, or 12,000 miles. Usually done at the same time as brakes and bearings.
Sweet, I already have what I need!

That's what I get for having it delivered and no orientation.

Our trailers are a bit of an anomaly with ETI builds. I DID search, but there's so few 2014s and not every owner belongs to this forum, I couldn't find anything and the manual doesn't address it either.

Mine is a 2015 and it has leaf springs. Reace switched to torsion axles on the TA during 2015. The “later” 2015 5.0TAs we did not have leaf springs.

I would just use the grease already in your gun. Any grease is better than no grease. It's not worth the trip to the store for that.

Late 2015 with leaf springs
Ours was ordered in August and completed in December and has leaf springs.
Can anyone help with the best place to jack up the rv to change tires?
Thanks

Most guys seem to jack on the spring perch/u-bolts right behind the wheel without issue. Use a board to distribute weight. I have done the same on leaf sprung trailers and vehicles.

I can't get in behind the wheel so I use the bracket at the outside of the spring. I made a wooden receiver that fits between the floorjacks plate and the springs bracket. I do put it up on stands after lifting the side.

I would suggest hardwood rather than pine if using a board because pine/spruce/fir is very soft. I got a small square of 1/2” steel at the local metal shop rather than using wood.
