5.0TA landing gear diameter size?
Hello group, I posted this in a different thread but don’t know if it will get much views.
I was wondering if someone owning a 5.0TA could measure the diameter of the landing gear jack posts and the black metal frame diameter they are sticking out of?
I would like to weld a HD castor wheel to the bottom of a steel pipe allowing the pipe to slip over the landing gear so that the trailer can be winched onto a flatbed trailer if/when needed.
Or do they already sell such a contraption? I looked and found nothing…,,thanks!

Nominal OD's:
Moving jack post = 2"
Fixed jack stub = 2-1/2"
There are slip-on wheels made to fit standard 2" nominal OD jack posts, that's what was provided and used by the ETI transporter for winching my 5.0 from his trailer to the flat-tow truck bed and then to the ground.

I must correct myself (shouldn't rely on memory ), here's a crop from pics of my trailer being unloaded at delivery, it looks like the casters are something fabricated for the task - a sleeve and welded plate with an industrial caster bolted to that. Hope that helps.

Do you know the spacing on those posts? Center to center? My father has a open deck car trailer but I think the posts on a 5.0 are narrower then the deck ramps.

Yeah, I've been following that thread - so very sorry about your situation and wishing you the best of luck with whatever you decide to do.
Don't hesitate to PM if there's any measurements I can pull from mine that might be useful, I'll certainly try to help from afar if I can.

44” between ramps…. Should just fit. Width between the car haulers wheel wells that stick up are 83”

Man, I hate to be the bearer of any bad news to you, but figure it's best known up-front.
Perhaps jumping the gun a bit but it sounds like you've decided to go with a buy-back and work from there?
As always, wishing the best for you in this difficult situation.

If I can easily get the trailer transported I think I’ll use it as a stationary camper at my land that we own. I would try to either get the frame fixed or replaced later, maybe even sell as a project and we are also still considering a replacement 5.0 too. Lots to think about.
