With the exhaust fan running since we insulated the door yesterday and all the windows closed. We have so far maintained temperture and I can not feel any cold air leakage. I have our freezer removed so we are setting at 30 degrees on 5 bars. Outside temp yesterday was 93. From 11:30 am to 9:00 pm yesterday in the heat of the day the fridge dropped from 88 to 38 running on 120 volt. I do have our interior axial fan running. I opened the door a couple times after getting it cooled down and drove the temp up 3-4 degrees and it seems to recover good.
Today is only suppose to get to 88 but I will let it continue to run and see what it does. Its not going to get over 90 degrees again in the forecast so don't know if I will be able to really test it with the freezer installed.
And no condensation on the door.
Time will tell.

Maybe someone can give the fan and baffle suppliers a run for their money and produce an insulation kit.

Just to be safe, I checked page 22 of the owners manual, then followed instructions, removed door snap-in trim on latch side, removed decor panel exposing the draft source.
Garage search turned up left-over roll of Weatherstrip Window Seal (Home Depot). For good measure, added self-adhesive rubber pipe insulation tape also found in garage. I have ended the draft.

Not sure I understand the candle test. They are not in the same position, relative to the latch.
If there is no draft, shouldn't the flame be steady in the second pic? I can hardly see it.

You say that because you've never been drafted.

"I believe the AC unit is a closed system and only draws and cools interior air."
That's correct, as in this basic drawing. Air is pulled from inside and returned to inside.

Assuming that the A/C has no leaks. I don't have one; are they made by Dometic?

I think Myron is showing us that as he moves the candle towards the latch the escaping air from the fridge blows the flame horizontal.

Glenn
He was showing that the cold air draft can almost blow out a candle when he moves it up and in front of the latch.
I did not refresh the page but now you got it.

Even with a leak, it's designed as a closed system. And yes, they are Dometic Penguin II Low Profile 11,000 BTU as far as I know.

Tomorrow I am going to put the FF fan in the flue and see if it helps. The frig geek I talked to said fans in the back give you the most improvement in efficiency over fans in the box.
Time to insulate my door too that candle test was slick. Thank you.

For what its worth my fridge was 30 degrees this morning measured on the door. I do have the freezer removed but this is 4 degrees lower then I have ever been able to get it with the freezer removed before. It was 80 degrees inside the garage this morning where the camper is and inside the camper was 85 because I have a dehumidifier running.
Also yesterday I open the fridge door and drove the fridge temps up from 31 to 39 and in the heat of the afternoon (88 degrees, 87% humidity) I was able to pull it back down to 31 in 3 hours.
I have exterior fans but have not ran them so I could see what it would do. I have had a little interior fan running.
Maybe its just wishful thinking but the fridge seems to be working better.

Yesterday I put the FF fan just inside the vent hatch so the fans would draw cool air in and send it up the flue. The temp in the frig tracked 2 degrees higher then the day before ....
Seems like the FF fan in that location blocked more air then it moved. Next I will disassemble the FF and just use the individual fans. I do have the Texas fan installed so maybe I will just turn it on 100% and see what it does for 24 hours.

This am @ 72 outside I was at 38 in refer and -0- in freezer. Currently at 90 degrees outside, 84 inside trailer and I'm holding 40 degrees in refer and 3 in the freezer. The interior ff fans have been on a week now. I'm facing south so the afternoon sun is now on the kitchen side.
