A/C on when furnace on

I was surprised to find that when connected to power, if I turn on the furnace the a/c fan also comes on. This was unexpected. I don't really like it. Can anyone explain this to me?

I have the Dometic digital thermostat controlling both the a/c and the furnace. Of course, I can just turn off the a/c breaker, but I'd just like to learn more about the purpose of the a/c fan coming on and what can be done about it. (Temps of 90's during day and 50's during night had me using both the a/c and furnace in same 24 hr period).

Something is not right. The first push of the mode button should bring on the top light and run the a/c fan. Second push should bring on the middle light and run A/C. Third push should bring on the third light and run the furance. 4th push should light up the mode button light and after a few seconds it will turn off. May have to drop Reace a note. Sounds like a bad stat.

Also check that you fan is on auto. Push mode button once and light it the fan button. Then by pushing the up and down arrows you can choose, high, low, & Au. Leave on Au.

Had the same results, I put my fan speed on low. But I'm not sure you can run just he fan w/o a/c on the first button. But if you want it to shut off I think you have to use auto and set your temperature and it will then shut off but not if it is on low. It is explained in manual. Here is one

these are more detailed and explains the "Auto" mode http://www.primetimerv.com/download/...structions.pdf

We had the same issue- spoke to Reace, the solution is what Jim indicates above. On auto and adjust the temperature.

Great, thanks. My fan must be set on either high or low, not auto. I'll change it and that should work for me.

You can run just the fan by touching the mode button once and placing the selection on either high or low
