Air Conditioner
Sorry we're asking so many questions. We are in hot, hot, humid Texas. We've just ordered a 21C. Does anyone have experience during hot (98 degree and up with high humidity) temperatures days on end? Is the AC able to keep the trailer cool (78 degrees?) We understand we will likely need fans. We've had many types of RVs over the years. Some have done well, others miserable.

AC
Well, we had a 19 at Inks Lake State Park two years ago in July (we have a 5.0 now). Temps were 106-108 every day for three days. The a/c ran almost continuously but it kept us comfortable inside at 76-78. So, I’d say yes. [emoji846]
BTW, with high humidity we raised the tongue of the trailer ever so slightly from level so the drain water from the a/c would run off the back of the trailer rather than down the side.

Ask as many questions as you need or want to ask.
During a week in Monument Valley a few years ago, when it was in excess of 105° daily (Phoenix was reporting temperatures approaching 115°), it was easy to keep the trailer at 76° (our typical level) even while camped in full sun. We do have double pane windows. You should be able to make your trailer mimic a meat locker!

Great! Unfortunately summer is so long here we've never been able to 'escape' to cooler weather all 5 months!

I forgot to add. Our 19 had single pane windows, no extra wall insulation and only foam insulation under the floor. We have no concerns with the heat and humidity. John

Camping in Texas is sitting inside a trailer with the air conditioner running full time?

Nope, camping in Texas is being out and about in 100+ during the day and enjoying the outdoors. Then when it cools to 90+ about 9PM, cooling the trailer down so you can sleep.

We must have a different A/C on our 2018 Escape 21 . During warm weather our trailer has never reached temps even remotely close to mimicking a meat locker
The A/C in our Casita could get the trailer down to temps in the low 70’s
Our Escape doesn’t come close in hot weather.

.....Wonder why the difference? Do you have thermal windows? What temps were you able to maintain?

We have the thermal windows , added wall insulation and the spray foam floor insulation
78 deg is bordering on hot in my book , much too warm for good sleeping.
Thursday , the high temp predicted here is 62 deg , just right
for sleeping
PS ; Changed the oil and tuned up my snowblower today in anticipation of good things to come .
