Amish replacement cooling units

For anyone interested I just heard back from JC Refrigeration about the availability of an Amish Cooling Unit to replace the Dometic one in the RMD8555 fridge. As most of you know the Amish cooling units are far superior then units built by Dometic and Norcold

Here is what they sent me.

“We are getting more and more calls for these, I am thinking we will pursue making a replacement that will be much colder then what you have and that process takes approx. 3 months...........

So if you can wait and check back we should have it available : thanks JR”

That would certainly be great if need be - let us know anything further.

Doug that could be really good news for a lot of folks. I have heard nothing but good reviews of those Amish units.

I will, mine seems to work fairly well, it just take awhile in the warmer weather.

Have been thinking about trying a southern holiday which could possibly be a lot warmer, so that combined with being in the US I was thinking it might be worth looking into.

I hope so Eric.
As a side note hopefully other people will look at this as a best option and contact them, I did mention to them I would bring this to our Forum.

That would surely show them that there is a customer base all ready for them!

Definitely the more folks that contact them on this model fridge, the quicker they will be to offer a better solution. If this works that much better, what a great solution it would be for those having problems. Maybe Dometic should try to hire their engineering fellow.

Please don't make assumptions about what "most" might know. "Many" might have been a better word. Or "some". I'm sure there's some or many folks on this forum that were clueless when reading this post and had to click on the link. Me included. Never heard of this product before.

So how many people have to know before the word most can be used.

Maybe a poll needs to be conducted then, in order to determine if in fact Doug was out of line with his posting.

It has never been a consideration for me, yet I have heard them talked about a lot before. Sounds like they have a good product.

I think a show of hands is sufficient.

There's a lot of things I've never heard of and no nothing about. It's what makes life interesting, constantly learning. But, I kinda miss that snotty teenager that was once me, you know... the one that thought she knew everything? (IF my mother could only hear me now...)

Here is mine. Whenever needed I am in.
Would be nice Reace knows about this as well. When the time comes for our frig to depart, I would love to be able to contact ETI to find a replacement, have them install it.
This might become quite a business for the Amish when going to the proper channels. ETI might be one of those channels.

Hi Laura they advertise in the "Trailer Life "magazine . You wouldn't have any reason for knowing about, JC Refrigerator replacements being a new RV owner . Usually at the back of magazine. Found them in a July Trailer Life I just looked in . Pat

I do have to ask where the Amish got all the technical experience to build a better cooling unit.

From making genuine Amish built radiant electric heaters !!.
I visited an Amish cabinet / furniture factory in Central Wisconsin .I was amazed by their old world craftsmanship , they used nothing but genuine Amish nails , hot melt glue , veneered particle board and staples.

By the way , I am one of the 49.999999%ers.

Boy, the word "Amish" sure gets used a lot for selling purposes. I've long wondered how they acquired special knowledge that makes their electric heaters more powerful than ordinary ones. Always though that a watt was a watt.
