Any leaks with front light above storage box?
Anyone have any leaks with the addition of an exterior light above the storage box? I am trying to minimize the number of holes in the body as I pick my build options. Thanks.

The light is mounted on the body not the frame and normally sealed. BTW with an Escape, there is a trunnion around the perimeter that channels any liquid that were to get inside to this area and there are drain holes underneath to the exterior.

Thanks Jim. I meant "body" and have changed the note above. I guess I was just wondering if anyone has had problems the seal used around the light. Is this something that needs to be re-caulked ever couple of years, like the roof caulking?

The exterior light is sealed with a clear sealant that will be needing attention after awhile, maybe 3-4 years depending on your location and if kept in or out. If inside, a lot longer.Same for your other vents and lights on the outside.

We have not noticed any leaks (at the front light or anywhere else) since our 19 was new in 2013. We do get rain water collecting inside the lens, which is easily dried out.

So what are people using to recaulk around the lights and vents? And have you been removing all the old caulking or just skimming over? On my past stick builds , the dealer sold me a rubberized coating that I painted on around the vents and lights every couple years. Seemed to work.

That may work, do you have a name for it?
