Anyone using Roku at commercial campgrounds?

I've read all the posts about owners adding various types of antennas to their trailers. My wife and I don't normally watch network TV at home and don't feel the need to watch it when on the road. When in Townsend, the cg had Wi-fi as so many do now. We had my laptop and found that we were able to connect to NetFlix, Amazon prime, etc. Due to some health issues, we are spending less time around the camp fire than previous camping trips and more time inside at night. We are considering just picking up a 19" TV & using our Roku for when we are at commercial cg's with Wi-fi. We used the laptop to watch in Townsend, but that is limited as to viewing at an angle.

I'm surprised that you had acceptable speed - I found the Townsend WiFi network pretty slow, at least compared to my Verizon Hotspot...

Many campgrounds frown on streaming video since it puts quite a load on the system.

A Roku likes bandwidth to work well. As long as your WiFi speed is sufficient (say 4 or 5 Mbps for HD) a Roku works well when camping. We have a Chromecast for camping, mainly because of the size, but I've tested our Roku in a few places using our Verizon Hotspot, and it worked fine.
