Atwood Furnace AFSAD 12121

My trailer is covered for winter and I probably shouldn't have started troubleshooting a problem I had in the fall with failure to ignite. Trailer is covered so can't start up but since I pulled it I'll carry on.

For my 2017 Escape 19 the Atwood furnace only has the vent outside. Pulling furnace I found mine was different than I thought because the sail switch ( Part #31933) is located in blower under a rectangular plastic panel screwed on back of box. This doesn't allow for my sailswitch easy access round port like Eggscape since I need to pull vent pipe to remove plastic panel. I did replace sail switch but question it was cause since it is very clean, like blower fan, and with ohm meter tested okay. Did any owners with same furnace, change the small curved paddle switch I have for an improved design? Since Atwood/Dometic have gone through numerous design changes, I wonder if mine was a design problem?

I also noted the OFF/RESET rocker switch on side of box. To make sure I'm right, do you leave this in the RESET position?

I'm toying with the idea of adding a vent in bathroom. Has anyone added extra vents. My understanding is it probably will help since it gives better air flow eliminating restriction of having only area of one.

I have the same question. Did you ever get the answer?

I have the same furnace - (an Atwood AFSAD12 Serial #72088178 Item 32838). I replaced my sail switch with the "official" replacement (a Hydro Flame Corp 31093 Sail Switch Kit Sm) from Amazon which is currently listed as unavailable. Fixed the problem even thought the old switch passed the ohm meter test.

As to the off/reset switch, mine was left in the reset position & the furnace works. I do wish the sail switch was located in the indoor air did so that I could add an exterior door, but there is no way adding a door would be practical with this model furnace.
