Bashing
Janet H just deleted a our ETI Forum thread on the eti FORUM. No bashing I saw,.. Why does one person get to decide what is 'bashing'?

This too shall pass, as forum rules prohibit discussing moderator decisions.

There was no bashing and she didn't say there was. And, it wasn't deleted. The thread was going around in circles with nothing new being added.

Post # 45, by Janet H , 'The Other Escape forum' "OK folks - this thread has turned into a bit of a bash fest and seems to have come full circle. Time to close it."
No bashing claim?
As for threads going around in circles. What's new? If after 10 posts you can recognizes the OP. Atta boy/girl. Glad I remembered the 'girl' part )

This board exists because ETI exists. There was a lot of supposition on that thread about ETIs motivation and frankly, it's just not fair to ETI. They would probably not post to that thread to try to defend their action and more of the same simply amps up rancour.
The thread was not removed and no posts were removed by the site team. Let's move on.

Not 'fair'? What does that have to do with the problem? "Probably not post" What does that tell us?
I am not a ETI detractor. I like my trailer and would not trade it.

When businesses argue with detractors or those with negative opinions on social media it's a lose/lose proposition. They are seen as overly defensive, trolly etc. Posts are generally not highly trusted because the company has a vested interest. If they don't post responses, they are seen as uncaring. It's catch 22 and frankly the reason you often see little manufacturer input on discussion forums. They read with great interest but most have been singed when they step into the fray.

How long have you been doing this? You seem to be very familiar with business practices.

Such communication can also be called into evidence.

A long time. I am the community director for the RV Life network/Social Knowledge and an RVer. I and a dedicated team of volunteers manage dozens of RV related forums. If you look back you'll see that I've been here since 2012 when JeffZ (original board admin) stepped down but we have forums that predate this by half a dozen years. In that time I've seen numerous Manufacturer discussion platforms open and then fold when board drama gets out of hand. When they fold all the info posted to them is lost. Member photos, plans and ideas all pulled down.
This forum was originally built by JeffZ and the intent of this board has not changed; to provide a friendly discussion area for those with an interest in Escapes.

Hi Janet!
Just in before the lock on this thread.
I moderate another forum and agree on your closing The other Escape Forum thread.
Reactive threads are usually closed. Proactive threads benefit all.
Thanks,
Perry

It does not really matter whether you or I agree or disagree with the actions of the management team on the Escape Forum. This is a privately owned forum and it is their prerogative to run the forum in the manner they choose, including closing posts, deleting posts, or limiting topics of discussion. If we cannot live with that, we are welcome to go elsewhere.
I am ok with that and for the most part have been satisfied with the way the forum has been managed in the years since I have been a member here.
