Bathroom Exhaust Fan Failure

Escape Community
Recently the bathroom exhaust fqn in our 21' Escape 2016 ceased operating.
A review of the Escape owners manual and vendor equipment details provided no
details on either troubleshooting the fan or the manufacturer.
A Question?
Does anyone in the Escape Community have any experience or guidance regarding troubleshooting or replacement of the bathroom fan?

Hi: jtischer... Our bathroom fan in our '07 5.0 quit working. I found a new brass push on/push off switch and replaced the plastic one for $2.95. That was the problem and less invasive than replacing the whole fan!!! Alf

I have seen the main failure with these fans to be the switch. I once had a casita where you just tapped on the ceiling by the fan to get the fan to work. (It was a switch issue). Best to get a multi-meter and check out the circuit.

Our fan did not work when we picked ours up last Sept. Didn't notice until we got home. Turned out that it was a thermal overload safety switch taped to the fan motor. It would not let any power get past it. Found this by using a voltmeter and tracing how far the voltage got. First checked the fuse, then tested the power at the switch which were all fine. Then tested contacts on motor. No power. The thermal overload safety switch is between the switch and the motor contact and taped to the side of the motor. The contact on the thermal overload switch facing the switch was live but the line coming out of the thermal overload switch was dead. ETI sent me a new bathroom fan under warranty. However, I didn't want to replace the whole fan because it was very nicely caulked on the roof and in the bath. So I removed the thermal overload switch out of the new fan and put it in the old fan without removing the whole fan. Works nicely now.

Our fan (as part of the ETI retrofit bath fan kit) was recently found not working. Troubleshooting lead me to the same fuse that you found. I cut the fuse out and rewired it up and it works perfect. I should probably get another fuse, but I have eliminated it for now. There is still a fuse at the power center protecting the circuit.
