Beeping Dometic power awning

Why is my power awning beeping? Its stored for the winter, all power is off and RV batteries removed. Any body know?

Might be low battery in the wind sensor.

Yes, it is the batteries in the wind sensor. Mine just did the same thing.

I guess it would be prudent when winterizing to remove those batteries prior to winter storage and replace in springtime?

I do, even out of the smoke detector. Frozen alkaline batteries can make a mess and destroy the appliance.

Yes, I’ll remember to add this to my “winterizing”list of things to do. Thank you

I make it a point to remove and discard the batteries from all battery powered items such as smoke alarms, supplemental lighting, awning wind sensors, thermostats, weather monitors, clocks, etc.,etc. when putting my trailer into winter storage.
If left installed, a battery gone dead is very likely to leak and corrode by springtime and quite likely to permanently damage whatever item is involved.
In my trailer, I make it a point to replace all my batteries with fresh ones every spring anyway. Same thinking for the batteries in my home smoke alarms, which I make a point of replacing every New Years.

We also remove the small batteries each winter and bring them in the house and also the several flashlights we have in the Escape. We’re more likely to have a need for flashlights in the house in the winter. Starting the spring with fresh batteries, I use up the Escape small batteries in (non critical) devices that I have. I test them with the multi meter and the ones in serious decline I recycle. Another important job for this retired citizen.
