Belly band lights issue

So, we are on our long maiden voyage. On the first night it was raining and our back belly band light was not working, but our front one came on just fine. The one by the gray and black water outlet has always worked. Now,, the front one is not working, but the back one comes on without any issues. Does anyone have an idea why this is happening or do we just have a gremlin? I figure I would pose the question on the forum, before putting a call out to Escape (since it is a small problem).

Thanks -Bruce & Lucy

If you are talking about the 12v lights that are similar to the “porch” light they are not the greatest quality and are not waterproof by any means. The on/off switches have been known to fail. Failure to come on has happened to me a couple of times. Rocking the switch on and off repeatedly has gotten them to work. I just (assumingly) attributed the problem to oxidation on the contacts. You can easily pop the lens out to let the air dry a bit. If you have a meter, check the terminals to make sure you are getting 12v power to them.

Check the Interior Switches

Chances are you have a switch or switches inside the trailer, probably by the door, that control each or combinations of these lights remotely. Make sure those switches are in the on position when operating the switch at the fixture.
