Blackwater tank access on a 19

Planning to retro up to a SeeLevel monitoring system. Fresh and gray tanks are no problem, but how to access the blackwater tank under the toilet. Possible? Not worth the trouble? Stumped! Tanks much.

Ted: The black tank extends out into the drivers side dinette seat compartment. You may need to carefully remove some wood used as cladding but you should be able to gain access to the side of the tank there. Unless things have changed the stock sensors were behind the bath wall. The thread below should help. Especially the picture in post #19. It was done on a 1st gen 19 many years ago but the newer 19’s should be a very similar design.

Also a 2018 may have an access hole under the dinette seat like shown here which would help. It appears the sensors are no longer behind the wall on the newer trailers

Then the wood "box" that my EMS sits on is actually a cover for the black tank? That makes it worth considering then, thanks much, Ted

Did not see a good picture from my ETI build album, but I too have a gen 2 19, and under the aft end of the driver’s side dinette is a wooden “box” with electrical. That box covers the forward portion of the black tank. I’ve not had mine apart, but it appears that removing the EMS if you have it, and unscrewing the box panels would give you fairly good access. Just make sure you are not plugged into 120V when moving the EMS.
