brittle plastic

The plastic on parts like the license plate light, outside stove vent, AC plug covers on my 10-year-old E-19 have become yellowed and taco-chip brittle. Has anyone replaced these parts? Can they be sourced through Escape or through alternate vendors?

Thanks
Glenn

ETI didn't manufacture any of those parts. They bought them from other resources, so can you. You may even find them locally at RV parts places. IF not Amazon and Google are your friends.

Paint any new plastic with a UV-blocking paint like Krylon for plastics (no primer needed) to avoid a recurrence of the yellowing.

Hi Glenn
I purchased and installed the electrical cord cover on the 19 and bought it locally at an RV store. On the 21, I replaced the vent cover for the batteries and will probably do the stove vent this winter. As Donna said, you can get many attached plastic pieces locally or from a mail order outfit like Etrailer.com. Hope you’re doing well and keeping busy, perhaps we will be lucky enough to cross paths in 2021. Some great camping in NE Iowa in the driftless area at reasonable rates. Happy Holidays

This license plate holder may be the one for you. ETI informed me this is what they're currently using. You'll see a schematic pic on the Amazon listing.

Mine was really rusted. Pulled the mount and cleaned the stained fiberglas surface with Bon Ami. Not installed yet, but will work perfectly. Will post more pics when complete.

As Donna said.

I know you are in the US but I was doing some other research and found them available at Walmart.ca so you should not have any problem finding them in many different locations.

I also found that Walmart in store carry the sewer hose I am looking for the best Canadian price. I just had my 3 year old 2 prong end failing. I will be replacing it with a 4 prong unit.

Good luck on your search...some of these aftermarket parts are not all they are cracked up to be...
