Broken awning handle
The base of one awning handle broke and the pin doesn’t easily pop into the arm to support the deployed awning as it should.
The base is made of pot metal so I’m afraid of bending the broken part back into place in case it breaks off completely.
I only see one rivet holding the handle to the arm. Maybe there will be something else if I slide out the inner arm.
Has anyone replaced one of these handles before?
Anyone know if parts are available for these older manual awnings?

That certainly looks like the one.
From the picture of the part it is obvious how it attaches, too.
Thanks very much for your invaluable help, Alan.

Holy smokes! I didn't realize it was a 6-pack either.
Having a spare or two is always good but I don't know if I need 5 spares. This is the first one to break in 9 years.
I'll search for a single.

The interesting thing, I've finding the single pack to be just as expensive as the six pack.... OR MORE.
So, if you do find a single at a decent price (including shipping), please post a link.

Check Ebay
I think I got my replacement there...cheap, single item, direct replacement. It's an easy job if you have a good rivet gun.

If you need to buy 6, I will buy 2 from you. Mine are 18 years old so replacing them would be worth it.

I just may go for the 6-pack.
Here's an example of what I found on eBay.
This is just the first listing but prices are similar for all the rest, some slightly lower, others somewhat higher.
I do have to pay in Canadian dollars so the price for this one handle would be $86!
That sure makes the Amazon.ca price of $46/6-pack with free shipping look attractive. Plus they'd arrive this week.
I'll wait til Monday and check with my local RV dealer. They have surprised me in the past with what they carry in stock.

My local had the handles in stock. They have one small section of various Carefree parts.
I decided to buy local even though the price was higher because they are for sure Carefree branded parts and I can see they are made of metal.
The handles on Amazon, although cheaper, are also all listed as being plastic. All the handles I searched anywhere were shown in retail packaging and similarly priced. Only Amazon did not show a package and were sold by the 6-pack at the same price singles sold everywhere else. I feared they were knockoffs so paid through the nose for a single and a spare. There were obviously no shipping charges.
Edit: my mistake. Amazon does show a retail package.
