Broken T Latch to hold entry door open

Hello,

The plastic T latch the holds the door open snapped in two. I see that Amazon sells replacements, but not sure if I should go for plastic again or metal. And, how to replace/ Looks like pop rivets were used. The replacement comes with screws.

Thanks for your help!

Better the latch breaks than the stuff it is attached to. I'd go with another plastic latch.

Ours snapped as well. Here is a whole thread about replacements. We decided to go with a metal one with new pop rivets. It has held up well.
