Bundle of wire in the back driver side upper cabinet

I posted a couple of questions about our new to us 19 and the forum responded with all the answers. I have another question, there are a bundle of wires in the upper cabinet over the bed on the passenger side they seem to go in two directions, any idea what they are for? I'm hoping to add a couple of reading lights. Thanks.

I would think the best source would be the person you purchased the used unit from. Factory new units normally do not have unfinished, exposed wires in the upper cabinets.

On the 19 the wires in that area are pretty much up for grabs to use for reading lights.

Basically wires for the tail lights etc. are under the bed and the wiring above the bed, in that area, is pretty much for house lights etc.

If you remove the vertical batten in the corner you'll be able to see some more of the wires. Maybe you can find a connection to test for constant 12V, not intermittent.

I added a small fan in that area by tapping into the power for the light over the PS dinette seat.

On my 21 I used a different method to add Captain's lights.

I took my power source from the converter, ran the wires up behind the batten, above the floor of the overheard cupboard and back down to the base of the lights. That's why there's a short length of solid copper wire visible. Good to shove through from the batten area to the inside of the cupboard.

Probably extra wire intended for just the type of thing you’re wanting to do. On the build sheet it’s an option, drop line I think its called. It was something like $40 to have it installed, it should be already hot ready to go.

An unused drop might be a possibility. It would be worth exploring it and see if there's a taped off set of wires.

The converter, on a 19, is the panel located on the face of the DS dinette seat.

Incoming AC goes to it and powers the AC circuit breaker as well as a battery charger. The charger is located in the bottom part of the unit under the 120V circuit breakers and the 12V fuses.

I had drops in all overhead cabinets & they were a bundled pair of around 10' of wire. I also had a cell antenna & an XM Radio antenna installed on the roof. Both came with 20' of coax, and the extra wire was bundled in the cabinet I asked to have the wires terminated.
