Can't leave the windows open???

My 1977 Trillium had the jaloise style windows, I could leave them open in a downpour and never get water in my boat.

So I traded up, got the 2007 17b with the sliding windows, when it rains, I have to close everything up tight, even the roof vent.

Not very good when you want to leave it at the storage place, I always left the windows open a bit.

What does everybody do, how many different styles of windows did Escape use, the new flush mount Windows look slick.

Not sure why you would have to close the roof vent, unless it's not the same Maxx Fan model that's on my 2008. I have the opening front window, so I can open it, under the open rock guard. There is airflow, even with the rock guard closed.

I like the pencil tray you've got on your window sill.

Rubbermaid tray. Depends on your window frame if it will clip on or not.

MaxxAir Window/Maxx was an excellent solution. I believe they have stopped making them. Perhaps E-bay might have them.

That is why we opted for the awning kitchen window on our 21' that is from the 19', instead of the usual 21' kitchen slider. At storage though, we do not leave windows open but may leave a fan vent open. Use Damprid. When camping, we have the awning window open every night, and the bath window also, even though it is an up and down slider. If it starts raining hard though or is wind and rain, we close those and just keep the fan vents open. Maybe you could replace one of your windows.

I left our trailer in my brothers barn in Montana. I left it closed up tight with a large absorbent tub sitting in the middle of the floor in a bucket. I guess there are different opinions which way is better. To vent or Not to vent that is the question.

I was disappointed about the Windows also -- but I recognized it before we got our trailer. We have the kitchen window and can leave that open. I suppose we could leave the emergency window open too -- but we don't use that one so much since one false move and the screen falls out.

When I leave the front window open, even with the rock guard closed, I still get a substantial amount of water coming in the window so I have to leave it closed.

I have been thinking about getting a MaxFan cover, just haven't got there yet.

Were awning style windows a direct drop in, who is the manufacteur, do I have to order them from Escape.

Can I add an awning window to the rear of the trailer? It's a solid window now.

Last I heard, ETI wouldn't put an opening window in the back because dust and rain would be sucked into the trailer when traveling.
Don't know what you have for a roof vent, but my MaxxFan already has a rain cover.
I don't have air, but that's the MaxxFan on the roof.

Escape did them for us--but we live close to the factory...We also had the opening front window like Glenn and often had water coming in--so replaced it with a solid front window--hence wanting opening windows somewhere in the front...

I can only think that there must be a reason why Doug and Anna-Marie have had water enter the front window and I have not. Just don't have a clue what that may be.
I usually have the rock guard open half or two thirds. I don't open it as high as it can go, which might direct water toward the trailer. ( see picture one in post #2 ). I'll likely have the screen closed too.

There is nothing on the top of my rock guard to stop the water, just the extruded aluminum that the guard pivots on, no sealing mechanism.

Right from our very first trip driving home Hwy 1 in the rain we had water coming in---multiple times on I-5----so we decided to change it out.... the cushions were often wet because we always seemed to camp in the rain...

(as I think will be this weekend---heading to Alice Lake for 4 days)have an electric site so have a cube heater and we will be fine....
