I thought I reported already.
Son-in-law attacked the area with his polishing compounds and his Porter-Cable polisher. He claims it could use some more work, but it looked good to me. Never did figure out what the cause was.

If it was sprayed moss killer it might be an iron stain from ferric sulfate. I used to have to clean industrial fallout off new cars in the eighties. We used oxcilic acid (powdered) mixed with water and a little dish soap (helped to make it not just run off). We sometimes soaked towels in the solution and laid them on the flat surfaces. Keep the solution on for at least half an hour and it worked well. Oxcilic acid used to be used to remove rust stains in clothes. Might be worth a try if the stain is an iron stain.

We have a lot of iron in our well water and use this to remove stains in toilets, and add it to the salt in our water softener on the recommendation of the installer. Iron-Out
It is primarily oxalic acid and pretty easy to find in stores. Be careful not to breathe the dust as you are mixing it with water.

Hi: thoer... You have to get up pretty early to get ahead of me!!! LoL Bar Keepers Friend is also Oxalic Acid. http://www.barkeepersfriend.com. Used it to get Goose grease grape shots off the front of a 5.0 at Niagara Wine Escape. Nothing else would touch them. Use with lots of water though. Alf
