Ceiling problem

Has anyone dealt with the vinyl coming loose?

My sister did in their 19. It was taken back to Escape and they repaired it under warranty but it did not look as good as when it was new. They wondered if it was because of being stored in a hot place.

I remember repairing headliners in cars that sagged due to age (don't we all?) and there are solutions that work.

Can you give any direction to a solution?

Escape should be able to fix it, if you find yourself in their neighborhood. I know someone who had a sagging liner on an older trailer and Escape fixed it for free, even though it was several years out of warranty. But this happened a few years ago so don’t know how they’d handle it today.

ETI uses a common adhesive from a spray can. When I first saw them spraying and putting up ceiling vinyl several years ago I was a little skeptical about how long the vinyl would stay up. In most cases it stays up quite well.

But in your case it hasn't. It's always helpful if a photo is posted of the problem because in your case, it could make a difference in the advice given.

In general you have two choices. One, slit the vinyl, spray in adhesive and line up the vinyl edges. Unfortunately the seam will show.

Two; the vinyl is put in before any of the cupboards etc. are put in. It's a fair amount to remove the cabinets etc. to duplicate the factory process but you can come close to it. Cut the vinyl hard up against the face of the cupboards. If there are moldings, remove them. There will be no seam visible in areas that are covered by trim and in other areas the cut won't be noticeable.

I've heard that too Ron. I was told they used 3M 77 or equivalent. I would probably use 3M 90, if only for the fact that it doesn't break down over time due to heat. Then again, I've never used the 90, and it may be harder to work with.

Just be careful that adhesive is very flammable, as evidenced by the fire at the Escape factory earlier this year.

The only thing I could find doing a search on the forum was a suggestion to use a needle and inject glue of some sort.
