Cleaning Bathroom Fan Screen

Is there an easy way to access and clean the bathroom vent screen? I have reached in and vacuumed from the rooftop and from inside the bathroom, but it looks like the dust has caked onto the top of the screen.

Your wise thoughts please...

Rather than pulling the dust in, how about using canned air to blow it out? Maybe even a vacuum set on exhaust would work.

Fred undo the screws and the outside cover comes off . There should be two little screws to remove screen to clean . The screen will come off . Pat

Fred: Pull the handle down, remove the two small screws (on sides of handle) to remove the handle and then you remove the two screws holding the screen and the switch so you can pull the screen out to clean it. All from inside.

Thankyou for correcting my reply Dave it has been a long time since I did it . It was really easy to do . I just didn’t remember you don’t need to remove ring but maybe I did . As I said a long time but pulling the screen off is the best way to clean it . Pat

Pat: When I first read your post I thought you were suggesting to remove the cover on the exterior because you said “outside”. At any rate Fred got the info he needs.

I tried that first, but the dust seems caked on. Gonna need more aggressive measures.

I noticed last trip my screen is loose and the fan is making some noise, so thanks for the guidance. Are there any lube points that need some greasing when this is apart?

Thank you for the information on cleaning the bathroom fan. I just cleaned ours after 3 years of full time use. It sure looks great!
