Clicking noise from AC?
We are on our third camping trip with our new Ecape 19 and loving every moment! This trip, there is a new clicking noise coming from the AC, and we haven’t even run the AC. Furnace is set to come on automatically, and both before it comes on and after it starts running we hear a bunch of clicking noises coming from the ceiling around AC. Anyone ever had this strange phenomenon?
Help!

On the first screen on your thermostat is the fan set to "Auto" rather than Low or High? You need to have it set that way or when the furnace comes on it will also run the fan in the A/C unit.

If you change the hysteresis setting in the thermostat from 2 degrees to 1 degree it for some reason causes a relay in the AC unit to energize before the heater fan starts, causing a clicking sound. It's annoying enough that I changed the setting back to 2 degrees.

Good idea. I checked the fan, it is set to auto. Still clicking right before furnace turns on.

Interesting, glad to know that you have resolved this before. I am not familiar with “hysterisis” or know how to change it, but I will start googling that.

Not sure what thermostat you have but sherminator is on to the issue. I got lucky on google a ways back and helped cpaharley2008 (Jim) fix this same clicking issue. See thread below and post #3 leads to a Forest River forum where they explain the issue and how to reinitialize the thermostat and set the temperature differential to d2 (2 degrees). Hysteresis isn’t really the right word.

Wow that does seem to be the same issue. We have a digital thermostat on our escape 19 from 2020, so it doesn’t sound like the ones in the thread, but I took the cover off and started fiddling. There wasn’t anything that appeared to be adjustable but somehow in the process of pushing on stuff I managed to change it from Fahrenheit to Celsius, and for a second I thought I broke it. But now it is miraculously back to normal and I haven’t heard any clicking Yet. Here’s hoping!
It’s really amazing how fast I can get help here, and lots of good insight! Thank you!

One thing to check. when I picked up my unit I thought my air conditioner was loud. I talked to ETI and they thought it was normal to be loud. I don't use it much. This spring i was working in the camper and turned it on and it made a clicking sound like something was hitting the fan. I investigated and found after removing the upper cover that one of motor mounts screws had vibrated out and was lying in the bottom of air unit. I replaced that and now have a quiet unit. does not sound like your problem ,but i thought i bring it up.
