CO/Smoke Alarm

Folks:

The original alarm (First Alert SCO5RVA) installed by Escape in my trailer (2015 17B) is nearing the end of its life (7 years). Apparently First Alert no longer offers this model. Has anyone recently replaced their original alarm? If so, what model did you use? Ideally, I'd like to find a First Alert that uses the same base plate so that I can just install the new alarm on the original base. Thanks for your help!

I prefer separate CO and smoke alarms since the recommended placement for them is different. CO is about 3 or 4 feet from the floor and smoke is near the ceiling. Of course, in a small trailer, it may not make much difference.

I think the base is the same on all the SCO models. I replaced the one in Ten Forward the beginning of the month. Had a heck of a time finding one! Finally settled on this, it works (and fit the base) just fine: https://www.amazon.com/First-Alert-S.../dp/B000EVO7C2

Don't care about the wireless.... maybe you do..

On the 5ers, the combined alarm is for a reason. Smoke alarms high and carbon monoxide alarm at sleeping height.

First Alert SCO5RVA

I have the SCO5RVA in my 2014 MB Sprinter built by Sportsmobile.

I'm getting the 3 chirp "malfunction" alarm despite trying all the troubleshooting (cleaning, reset, etc.).

I couldn't find one then I tried using the number "0", then tried using letter "O". I was able to find one at Lowe's but the price is $13+ more than the SCO5CN model.

Can't see much difference except the the "RV Approved" on the packaging and the addition of some French on the RVA model (First Alert is a Canadian company) on the packaging.

Below are links to the two models at Lowe's:

The SCO5 in my E21 died 2 years ago, I replaced it and that one only lasted a year, I replaced it again with https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000MXJ498/ and it's still going strong.

Btw, never heard that about CO detectors having to be at a different level. CO mixes freely with air and doesn't separate in layers
