Commode water supply line adhesive

My 2016 21' Classic has some type of adhesive substance on the white pex supply line where it comes out of the wall from under the bed into the bathroom. This line goes from the wall over to the commode. I noticed the adhesive substance had pulled away about 50% from the wall. My questions are: #1 what is the purpose of this adhesive? And #2-What can I use to replace it with? Thanks in advance for responses.

Is it's purpose to be an adhesive or is it simply caulking to seal around the pipe and hide the gap around it?

Pretty much any caulk will do the job. Might as well get some Dicor caulk for other areas of the trailer that might need re-caulking from time to time.

It’s to stop water from leaking out when you use the shower. Just push it back so it seals the hole up.
If needed you can use butyl tape and seal the hole.
